Project Steering Committee
A project steering committee provides senior oversight and resolves decisions that exceed the project manager’s authority.
Definition
In general ERP practice
A project steering committee is a group of senior stakeholders responsible for overseeing a project’s direction, priorities, and major decisions. Its authority and membership depend on the organization’s governance model.
In a large ERP project, it may review the business case, candidate shortlist, budget, implementation approach, and issues that require agreement across departments or legal entities.
In Odoo
Odoo Project can support task coordination and visibility, while the steering committee remains an organizational governance body.
Software permissions or approval buttons should not be assumed to define the committee’s actual investment authority.
