Incoterms
Incoterms are standardized trade terms defining certain delivery responsibilities, costs and risks between seller and buyer.
Definition
In general ERP practice
Incoterms are standardized trade terms defining certain delivery responsibilities, costs and risks between seller and buyer.
The agreed rule and named place help explain delivery obligations. Incoterms do not replace the sales contract, product classification or reporting rules.
In Odoo
Odoo can record an Incoterm on commercial/accounting documents. Check that it matches the agreement; a default should not override different terms for an individual transaction.
Delivery terms versus reporting codes
An Incoterm describes delivery arrangements. A commodity code classifies goods and an Intrastat transaction code describes the nature of the operation. These fields serve different purposes.
Illustrative example
EXW shown in a settings screenshot is an example value, not a universal recommendation. Use the actual agreed rule and named place for the shipment.
