Phantom Assembly

A phantom assembly groups components in a bill of materials without treating the intermediate grouping as a separately stocked manufactured item. Requirements are expanded to its components.

Odoo’s closest documented function is a Kit-type BoM used to organize component sets or sell kits. Components drive stock and replenishment when the grouping is not tracked as a separate finished item; a kit and a stocked manufactured subassembly have different flows.
