Legacy System
A legacy system is an existing application or platform that still supports business operations but carries constraints that make change or continued support difficult.
Definition
In general ERP practice
A legacy system is an existing application or platform that still supports business operations but carries constraints that make change or continued support difficult.
Age alone does not make replacement worthwhile. Assess useful business behavior, support, security, integrations and the operational cost of keeping the system.
In Odoo
An older ERP can remain operational while its modules, dependencies or interfaces constrain the business. If the current ERP is Odoo, distinguish a version upgrade from replacing another platform with Odoo.
