Cutover
Cutover is the controlled transition from the current operating system or process to its replacement in production.
Definition
In general ERP practice
Cutover is the controlled transition from the current operating system or process to its replacement in production.
It includes the final data synchronization, access or write changes, business verification and the decision to continue or recover. A release can be developed iteratively and still use one production cutover; phased development and phased go-live are different choices.
In Odoo
For an Odoo migration or upgrade, define who can write to each system during the transition, how final transactions are handled and who accepts the result. No universal zero-downtime assumption can replace the project-specific transition window.
