Stock Count
A stock count measures the physical quantity of goods at a location and date.
Definition
In general ERP practice
A stock count measures the physical quantity of goods at a location and date. It provides evidence for comparison with recorded stock; discovering a difference and posting an adjustment are separate steps.
In Odoo
Odoo’s Physical Inventory screen records counted quantities by product, location and tracking identifier. Applying the resulting adjustment changes recorded inventory; retain the counting date and investigate differences rather than replacing balances without review.
Official Odoo documentation
The Odoo-specific explanation above is based on the documentation for Odoo 19. Features and workflows can differ in other versions.
