Appointment Type
An appointment type defines a bookable service, including its duration, hosts or resources, available hours and booking rules.
Definition
In general ERP practice
An appointment type is a reusable definition of a bookable service or meeting format. It sets the conditions under which individual appointments can be reserved.
In Odoo
In Odoo 19 Appointments, an appointment type defines a title, duration, users or resources, scheduling window, available hours, questions and booking options. A customer reservation creates an individual appointment using those settings.
User-based types schedule time with people. Resource-based types schedule spaces or facilities and can enforce resource capacity. With CRM installed, Create Opportunities can create a CRM opportunity from each booking.
Appointment type versus appointment
For example, “Product demonstration — 30 minutes” is an appointment type. A reservation for that demonstration on a particular date with a particular host is an appointment. This is an illustrative example.
