Kanban
Kanban is a method of signaling work or replenishment according to demand and making the flow of work visible.
Definition
In general ERP practice
Kanban is a method of signaling work or replenishment according to demand and making the flow of work visible.
In production, a signal can authorize replacement of consumed stock. In knowledge work, a board can show stages and limits on work in progress. Visualizing a queue alone does not establish a pull system.
In Odoo
Odoo Kanban views display records as cards and can group them by stage. This interface is distinct from configuring a manufacturing pull-replenishment process; define the trigger, quantity and ownership separately.
Practical example
A board with many tasks marked In Progress can reveal overload. A replenishment card for an empty component bin serves another purpose: it signals that a defined quantity should be supplied.
