A chart of accounts is the organized list of ledger accounts used to classify assets, liabilities, equity, income and expenses.

A chart of accounts is the organized list of ledger accounts used to classify assets, liabilities, equity, income and expenses. Account codes identify categories; they are not customer or project identifiers.
In Odoo
Odoo configures accounts through the Chart of Accounts, normally starting from a fiscal localization. Account types affect financial reporting, and defaults on products, journals and taxes determine where transactions are posted.
