Batch Data Synchronization
Batch data synchronization exchanges sets of records at intervals rather than processing each event immediately.
Definition
In general ERP practice
Batch data synchronization exchanges sets of records at intervals rather than processing each event immediately. It needs stable identifiers, clear update rules and checks for missed or duplicate changes.
In Odoo
Odoo supports file import and export, including external identifiers for matching existing records. This is the closest documented manual batch mechanism; unattended scheduled exchange requires a configured integration, with validation and recovery rather than an assumption that every import is a live sync.
Official Odoo documentation
The Odoo-specific explanation above is based on the documentation for Odoo 19. Features and workflows can differ in other versions.
