Asset Disposal

Asset disposal removes an asset from use and the accounting register through sale, scrapping or another retirement. The difference between proceeds and carrying value determines any gain or loss.

Odoo’s asset workflow supports selling or disposing of an asset and generating the corresponding accounting effects. Review the disposal date, accumulated depreciation and sale proceeds; archiving an equipment record alone is not an accounting disposal.
