Segregation of Duties
Segregation of duties separates conflicting responsibilities, such as creating suppliers, approving bills and releasing payments.
Definition
In general ERP practice
Segregation of duties separates conflicting responsibilities, such as creating suppliers, approving bills and releasing payments. It reduces the chance that one person can both perform and conceal an improper transaction.
In Odoo
Odoo access groups, model permissions and record rules provide the closest enforcement tools, supplemented by configured approvals. Permissions are additive across groups, so review combined access; assigning different job titles alone does not prevent conflicting system actions.
Official Odoo documentation
The Odoo-specific explanation above is based on the documentation for Odoo 19. Features and workflows can differ in other versions.
